PIPS-Housing Rights Charity of year

We were delighted to present our charity of the year PIPS with a donation towards their work when they visited our offices recently.
PIPS provides support to individuals who are considering, or who have at some point considered, ending their own lives. They also provide support to those families & friends who have been touched by suicide.

This is the second year Housing Rights has supported PIPS vital work. Jonathan Lamb from Housing Rights Positive Working Environment group explains why.

Following a staff vote it was decided to support The PIPS Charity as our Charity of the Year for a second year running. Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm has no core funder and relies entirely on fundraising by individuals and organisations. The work of this charity resonated with the Housing Rights team, as often homelessness and poor housing conditions can be a catalyst for a feeling of hopelessness, diminished mental health and increased risk of self-harm and suicidal ideation. Along with fundraising endeavours, staff undertook awareness training provided by PIPS.
