About Housing Rights

Established in 1964 Housing Rights is the leading provider of independent specialist housing advice services in Northern Ireland.

We are a passionate team working tirelessly to keep people in their homes and help them with their housing problems, and this is reflected throughout all sections of the organization.  In addition to our advice and advocacy work, we undertake training, information, and policy work to try to improve conditions for those living in poor, unaffordable or unsustainable housing.

We all play a part, and our staff bring their own unique expertise in contributing towards our vision of everyone having a home.  In the year 2020-2021 alone, we helped alleviate homelessness for a total of 422 households and provided help with 46,648 housing issues.

Working for Housing Rights

As a growing organisation, there are opportunities to develop, with a tailored learning and development plan for each individual staff member and we are British Standards accredited in this area.

We also offer agile and flexible working options helping our staff achieve a good work-life balance, access to employee well-being services, in-house positive working environment events, a generous holiday allowance, as well as an accessible location and free parking.

Our accreditations

  • Housing Rights promotes Diversity & Inclusion across the organisation and in its services, and we hold British Standards accreditation in this regard.
  • Since 2018 we have held accreditation with regard to Learning and Development (PD 76006 Standard) and also in Valuing People through Diversity and Inclusion (BS 76005 Standard).
  • We are an accredited Living Wage employer.
