Find out how the Private Tenancies Act (NI) affects tenants and landlords, and the changes landlords must make to follow the law.

The Private Tenancies Act (NI) 2022 introduces new requirements for private tenancies from 1 April 2023.

This session breaks down the content of the new regulations. You’ll learn how these changes impact tenants in a private tenancy. We’ll also cover the responsibilities of landlords and agents.

What we will cover:

  • when a notice of variation needs to be issued
  • the requirement to issue receipts for cash payments
  • timescales for protecting tenancy deposits
  • the new limit for deposit amounts
  • fines and offences for not complying with tenancy deposit regulations

Who should attend:

  • housing advisers
  • community/residents’ groups
  • benefit advisers
