Private Tenants’ Forum responds to Proposals for Change to the Private Rented Sector

The Private Tenants’ Forum, a group of individuals who have experience of living in the private rented sector (PRS), has responded to the Department for Communities’ (DfC) recent consultation on Proposals for Change to the PRS in Northern Ireland.

The Private Tenants’ Forum are pleased to see that a number of the key action points they recommended for improvements to the PRS, published in their Agenda for Action, are directly relevant to the DfC proposals.  The inclusion of the majority of the key action points from the Forum’s Agenda for Action evidences the value of involving private tenants in policy development.

The Private Tenants’ Forum hope that the outcomes of the Proposals for Change will lead to real improvements in the private rented sector, and all new changes will be monitored and enforced effectively.
