Housing Rights secures funding to develop new website for private renters
Housing Rights is delighted to have secured funding from the Buildings Change Trust to develop a web platform, called SmartRenter, which will inform and assist private renters in Northern Ireland.
SmartRenter will inform and empower private tenants in Northern Ireland by offering practical information, advice, tools and functionality to help them spot and address problems in their tenancy before they reach a crisis point.
Techies In Residence
We were able to develop a prototype of our idea after securing a place on the Techies in Residence programme. The programme matches third sector organisations who have a social problem they want to address with technical expertise to help them do this. Housing Rights were matched with Zoo Creative who have worked with us over the last 3 months to develop Smart Renter.
SmartRenter for Private Tenants
We showcased our protoype at this years Digital DNA conference in June 2018 to try and secure seed funding from the Building Change Trust. We were successful in being awarded a seed fund along with other projects from Shelter NI, Mencap, Children’s Law Centre, Parenting NI and UHub.
The seed fund will allow us take our prototype to public launch at Housing Rights annual Private Rented Sector conference in November 2018. If you would like to find out more about SmartRenter, contact [email protected].
