Assistance with rates for Universal Credit claimants

Housing Rights has produced a short video to encourage Universal Credit claimants to apply for a rate rebate to help with rates payments. Universal Credit does not provide for any assistance with rates payments. Instead, people receiving Universal Credit will have to submit a separate application for assistance with rates. A quick online application system for rate rebate has been set up by Land & Property Services on the NI Direct website and this video explains how you can set up your account and start your claim for help.

If you've got any questions about rates or how your housing costs will be dealt with under Universal Credit, call our Housing Rights advisers on 028 9024 5640.
