The Private Tenancies Act received royal assent in April 2022. It created new notice to quit rules for landlords and tenants.  The act contains other changes to the private rented sector, however, regulations are needed to make these changes into law. Some of these regulations have now been put in place and will be effective from 1 April 2023. 

The Energy Bills Support Scheme NI (EBSS NI) has opened applications for a £600 payment that will support around 28,000 households in Northern Ireland. This payment is for those who missed out on the previous automatic £600 payment.

Eligibility for the Payment

The scheme is now open to all eligible households across Northern Ireland until 31 May 2023.
