028 9024 5640: Housing & Debt Helpline for Northern Ireland

Zoë Anderson's three wishes

Zoë Anderson is the Communications Manager at Start 360, the new name for Opportunity Youth.  Start360 is Northern Ireland’s leading provider of support services to young people, adult offenders and families in the community, providing a range of services and interventions in the areas of health, justice and the economy. Below she outlines her 3 wishes if asked for them by the housing genie.

1.       Appropriate emergency, short term and longer term accommodation should be available for young people -  with support where needed and enough Housing Benefit to pay for it.
2.       Young people aged 16 and 17 should never be placed in hostel accommodation as it is not suitable for their needs.
3.       Housing Benefit should not be scrapped for under-25s.
