Housing Rights Service help those facing repossession
Housing Rights Service court duty scheme assists homeowners and tenants on the day of their possession hearings. Specialist legal advisers Maria McNally and her colleague Eamonn McLaughlin attend High Court and County Court repossession hearings. They are in the courts to offer emergency advice and assistance to those attending and, if appropriate, accompany them to their hearing. Last year Housing Rights Service provided representation at over 1500 court hearings, helping Northern Irish families who were facing repossession and homelessness.
Maria McNally said of the service she helps provide:
“Our service is absolutely free so whether you are concerned about falling behind with your mortgage or you already have a Court date we are here to help; it really is never too late to seek advice."
