The Housing Advice Training Programme
This October in Derry / Londonderry, we are running our best selling accredited Housing Advice Training Programme. This is the must have foundational course for those working in housing. The four day format concentrates on key themes of homelessness, selection scheme, accessing and sustaining accommodation and housing options.
Welfare Reform: Implications on the Home
When advising clients on the changes that welfare reform will bring, it is vital that advisers are aware of the implications it will have on the home. Our course will give you the knowledge you need to help those impacted, especially for low income and vulnerable households.
The Essentials
We have a range of Essential courses covering accessing social housing, housing benefit and the four homelessness tests. These courses range will give you the practical skills needed to assist anyone applying for housing benefit, or trying to maximise their points and access social housing.
Helping people to find and keep their homes
We have a few courses that will give you the skills and knowledge to help anyone find a home, and sustaining it. Making appropriate housing choices is an accredited course that will help you assess a clients needs and make the right recommendations for them. Helping clients keep their home, also accredited, will give you practical solutions to key issues that can impact a persons ability to stay in and enjoy their homes. We also have a course that is specifically geared towards helping young people find and sustain their accommodation.
Illegal eviction
The Housing Rights helpline has noted an increased number of calls recently on the topic of illegal eviction. Our course on antisocial behaviour, illegal eviction and disrepair issues looks at the role of the tenant, the landlord and authorities in solving issues associated with antisocial behaviour such as illegal eviction.
The Private Rented Sector
Renting privately has become the default option for a diverse range of households, including students, young professionals, families and increasingly many vulnerable households with varying social needs. This accredited two day course will give you the skills to advise those looking for, living in or leaving a home in the private rented sector.
