The Housing Advice Training Programme
Our best selling Housing Advice Training Programme is the must have foundational course for those working in housing. The four day format concentrates on key themes of homelessness, selection scheme, accessing and sustaining accommodation and housing options.
Made of Money
Made of Money will equip you with the skills and knowledge to deliver and share financial capability education with the groups/clients you work with in a fun and non threatening manner. This course is free for those who provide money/budgeting or debt advice and advocacy to clients or groups.
Housing Benefit: Introduction and Advanced Level courses
Housing Rights Service is holding two separate housing benefit courses. The first is an introduction, covering the basics of housing benefit such as entitlement, application and discretionary payments.
The advanced course will build on the introductory session. It will consider challenging a decision and include relevant legislation, regulations and commissioners decisions.
Common Selection Scheme
The Common Selection Scheme course is for advisers who help clients accessing social housing. It will cover how the Common Selection Scheme operates and the Housing (NI) Order 1988. It will help advisers understand points entitlement under the Selection Scheme and maximise points for clients.
Anti Social Behaviour
The one day Anti Social Behaviour course will examine both the practical and legal remedies which advisers can employ in dealing with incidents of anti-social behaviour. It will increase awareness of the number of statutory agencies including the NIHE, PSNI and Environmental Health Departments that can help to tackle the symptoms of anti social behaviour.
Annual Housing Law Update
This essential half day seminar will provide you with the must have information on key housing policy and case law developments from the past year. It will include, welfare reform, social housing reform, review of the selection scheme and changes in the Private Rented Sector.
