Housing Rights bids Farewell to Jim O’Callaghan after 32 years

This week, Housing Rights bid farewell to one of our longest serving members of staff, Jim O’Callaghan. Jim was our Head of Operations and a steering force behind the Organisation that Housing Rights is today.

Having joined Housing Rights in 1989, when there was only 3 members of staff, Jim was a key part in leading and growing the Organisation. He leaves behind over 50 members of staff and multiple services and projects that he helped shape to aid those in housing need.

Jim’s passion for social justice and his focus on clients and people has guided his work over the past 32 years in Housing Rights. He worked through 2 repossession crisis and was instrumental in securing funding for court representation for those facing the imminent threat of repossession.

We wish him all the best in this next chapter of his life, and hope it includes long travels, mountains, and marathons for many more years to come!
