028 9024 5640: Housing & Debt Helpline for Northern Ireland

Did you know?

Did you know that by attending our Housing Advice Practitioners’ Forum three times a year:

  • You can be kept up-to-date with the latest developments in housing legislation, case law, policy and practice?
  • You can network with other housing professionals from a range of organisations throughout Northern Ireland?
  • You can contribute to Housing Rights Service policy responses to important consultations?
  • You can have access to a range of free information materials which you can then share with your colleagues, to enhance their housing knowledge?
  • You can hear about projects/developments in other organisations?
  • You can ask for assistance from our own advisers with any difficult housing cases you may have?

If you are a member of Housing Rights Service, and interested in any of the above, then come along to the next meeting of the Forum which is taking place on Wednesday 25th June at 1.30pm at Housing Rights Service.

100% of our participants find that attending the Forum is beneficial to their work. Some of them have commented:

“Keeps us updated on any new legislative changes and welfare reform changes”.
“It is a vital tool in the armoury of any service with a direct link to housing provision, advocacy and advice services”.
“Feel better informed”.
“Provides a networking opportunity and an update”.

At the next Forum we are delighted to have along representatives from Smartmove Housing who will brief us on the newly launched Private Rented Sector Access Scheme, which is aimed at providing access to private rented sector accommodation as an alternative to social housing in high demand areas, for which applicants can be waiting a long time

If you are a member of Housing Rights Service and would like to find out more about the Scheme and what else is happening in housing then please confirm your attendance by contacting Sharon Geary, Legal Information Officer.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Housing Rights Service, please contact Frances McGrath
