Your feedback can shape these strategies and proposals.
Homelessness and temporary accommodation
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive is consulting on:
- ‘Ending Homelessness Together’ Draft Homelessness Strategy 2022-2027
- ‘Homeless to Home’ Draft Strategic Action Plan for Temporary Accommodation
‘Ending Homelessness Together’ outlines the NIHE’s approach to addressing homelessness over the next five years. The strategy focuses on
- Prioritising the prevention of homelessness
- Providing secure and appropriate accommodation and support when homelessness does happen
- Supporting homeless households into settled accommodation
NIHE’s draft action plan for temporary accommodation, ‘Homeless to Home’, builds on the recent strategic review of temporary accommodation. It sets out actions NIHE intends to take to deliver on the recommendations in the review by 2027.
Visit the consultation section of the NIHE website to respond to these consultations. You must submit your response by 25 January 2022.
Intermediate rents
The Department for Communities has opened a consultation into the development of policy and a model for intermediate rent in Northern Ireland.
The intention of an intermediate rent model is to provide an affordable housing model for those people who cannot get social housing and cannot afford to buy a home.
The consultation document, questionnaire and background reading are available on the department’s website. You must respond by 14 January 2022.
