Overview

Our Private Rented Sector course will equip trainees with a better understanding of the PRS and its structure. It will then cover how to advise clients who are entering the sector, currently living in the sector, those who are having problems and those who want to leave the the sector.

Outcomes

This course will cover:

  • The rights and obligations of tenants in the Private Rented Sector
  • The obligations of landlords and tenants with regard to repairs
  • The obligations of landlords and tenants with regard to repairs
  • The statutory requirements relating to rent control
  • Issues around affordability and accessibility of tenancies
  • Security of tenure

Who should attend

This course will be of particular benefit to housing advisors, benefit advisors, community/ residents groups, political party constituency staff, legal professionals, private, social and hostel accomodation providers.

Accreditation costs

This course is accredited at OCN Level 3. In order to gain the accreditation, participants must complete and submit a portfolio of exercises. There is an additional charge of £50.00 per person to cover the cost of accreditation.
