Welfare Reform poses a number of issues, in particular for those living in temporary accommodation who are trying to move into the private rented sector. This course will give participants an understanding of issues such as completing an application for Universal Credit, rent in advance, sources of finance during the first assessment period, and accessing discretionary payments to help with this wait.
Outcomes
This course will:
- empower staff and volunteers to deliver appropriate advice and support to people dealing with housing issues arising from the implementation of Universal Credit.
- develop the financial capability of key frontline staff / volunteers, to enable them to provide essential support to people moving into permanent accommodation.
