The Welfare Reform (NI) Order 2015 represents the biggest shake up of the social security system in Northern Ireland, since the creation of the welfare state. Its implementation is presenting significant changes to how people in Northern Ireland access and maintain their housing.
This session will update your knowledge on Welfare Reform. It will consider the impacts of the system on the housing situation of vulnerable and low-income households. It will also highlight the types of accommodation and groups of people who will remain on Housing Benefit in the short term.
Outcome of course
By the end of the session you will have a better understanding of Universal Credit Housing Costs and be better equipped to advise clients on the changes from the Housing Benefit (Legacy system).
