028 9024 5640: Housing & Debt Helpline for Northern Ireland

Training Courses
Online
Monday, December 14, 2020 - 10:00 to 11:30

Our advisers have been talking to huge numbers of private renters over the last seven months. As belts tighten for both tenants and landlords, it's more important than ever that advisers are confidently able to tackle challenges in the private rented sector.

This 60 minute webinar will cover some of the most pressing issues faced by people who are renting privately in Northern Ireland during the COVID-19 pandemic. Renters are predominantly concerned with paying their rent, eviction and feeling safe within their rented homes. This webinar will make sure that you have all the necessary information to help your clients to deal with similar concerns.

The session will also discuss the recent statement on housing reform made by the Minister for Communities in the NI Assembly. This ambitious statement included several references to implementing positive change for private renters. Our tutors will discuss these proposals and look to Housing Rights research and the experience of Northern Ireland's Renters' Voice to consider how these proposals will impact on the lived experience and very real concerns of private renters locally.
