This course will ensure that participants have the knowledge and skills to challenge negative housing decisions. It will cover the legislative framework as well as common problems and tactics. 

Outcome of course

This course will cover:

  • Administrative decision making
  • Procedures applicable for challenging different negative decisions
  • Reviewing requests and submissions
  • Conducting homelessness investigations and reviews with confidence
  • Temporary accommodation pending review
  • The principles of judicial review and appeals to County Court
  • The role of the Ombudsman

This course will be of particular importance for housing advisers, community groups, political party constituency staff, private, social and hostel accommodation providers.
