At Housing Rights we believe that everyone should have a home, and we work tirelessly to keep people in their homes and help them with their housing problems.

Our 2021-22 Impact Card outlines the positive impact that Housing Rights had on people’s lives over the course of the year.

As a result of our work between March 2021 to April 2021:

• 1027 households were prevented from becoming homeless
• 12,825 people were given advice, advocacy and representation
• 1846 landlords were provided with advice

Of those clients who used our helpline during the year, 9 out of 10:

• were better informed to make appropriate housing choices
• had an improved sense of wellbeing
• reported that their housing circumstances had improved

Supporting frontline practitioners

We re-established a full housing training service, and delivered training to almost 1000 attendees.  We also supported 1996 practitioners through our practitioners’ helpline, and 78 at our practitioners’ forum.

Influencing policy and legislation

We acted upon opportunities to influence policy and legislation which will positively impact people living in poor or inadequate housing, including:

• extension of the Welfare Reform Mitigation Package
• expansion of the use of Discretionary Housing Payments
• the Private Tenancies Act 2022
