Our safeguarding statement applies to

• everyone works and volunteers with Housing Rights  

In particular, this statement applies to children, young people and adults at risk.  

We will work in a way that promotes your welfare and protects you from harm and exploitation. 

We will provide a safe, caring environment where you feel listened to and valued. 

We operate in an inclusive, open and transparent environment. We welcome your feedback on how to improve.  

We will make sure our staff and volunteers are aware of issues that can cause you harm.  

We will not tolerate any form of abuse or any harmful treatment of our service users or staff.  

Our commitment to safeguarding

Our safeguarding policy covers all areas of work where staff or volunteers are or have contact with 

• children,  
• young people,  
• adults at risk of harm.  

Housing Rights' board of trustees will develop and approve  

• this policy 
• the safeguarding statement 
• procedures to support this policy 
• a code of behaviour for staff and volunteers

Staff and volunteers are responsible for 

• working in line with the safeguarding policy and procedures 
• following procedures for recruitment and selection of staff 
• managing staff by providing proper support, supervision and training 
• following procedures for reporting safeguarding concerns to the proper agencies 

• following the code of behaviour for staff and volunteers 

This policy applies to everyone within Housing Rights.  

A copy of the safeguarding statement will be 

• provided to all staff and volunteers 
• displayed in the Housing Rights office 
• published on our website
