Social Housing Reform Programme summary research now available
10 March 2014
In January 2013 Nelson McCausland, the Minister for Social Development, announced proposals to radically change the way social housing is delivered in Northern Ireland. A Social Housing Reform Programme (SHRP) was set up to look at the Minister’s proposals to establish a housing model
- that is tenant-focused,
- that is sustainable and
- that enables investment in communities.
On 27 February the SHRP presented a summary research and analysis paper to the Social Development Committee. This summary provided an overview of the initial research and an analysis of the findings.
The areas of research covered were:
- Regional Housing Functions;
- Landlord Functions;
- Rent;
- Regulation and Inspection;
- Department Functions; and
- Engagement
The paper is now available and DSD is inviting comments and feedback. You can email any comments to [email protected]
